Thank You

The realisation of Black Easter 2016 became one with many obstacles, but with so many great performances, so many kind words, such a marvellous audience, such a tremendous technical team and so many fantastic volunteers, and last but not least, as always the support and friendship of BodyBeats, there is only one more thing to say: thank you all so much for making this second edition of Black Easter such a fantastic experience! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

Performance by RosaRubea is cancelled

With deep regret we have to announce yet another cancellation, this time of RosaRubea.
After the devastating attacks in Brussels, we tried, together with RosaRubea, to rearrange & assure the flights from & back to Milan, but Brussels Airlines couldn’t give us guarantees, and thus it won’t be possible for the band to reach Antwerp & perform at our festival. Daniela Bedeski and her entire band are devastated, as are we. We will try to replace the band, even if this is very short notice. We will keep you informed.

Cancellation by Les Panties

With deep regret we have to announce the cancellation of Les Panties at Black Easter 2016. Due to personal problems, the band decided not to play gigs during 2016 and that also includes the one at Black Easter.

We did everything to find a marvelous replacement in short time, and we’re sure we did: the French Saigon Blue Rain. The band will play on Sunday 27th March.

Saigon Blue Rain is known for its ethereal cold wave, and that of course fits more than perfect in the program we offer you this year.

Special announcement

Special announcement

We are sorry to announce the cancellation of the performance of Monica Richards on Black Easter. Monica just found out that she has some medical issues she has to deal with during the following months and therefore she won’t be able to sing during the following months.
Unfortunately Monica is forced to cancel - with deep regret - her performance at the Black Easter festival,  and also her accompanying bands Sullen Serenade and Paul Mercer will not attend the festival.
We wish her all the best and hope to welcome them on one of the future editions of the Black Easter festival.

Meanwhile, we decided to replace these 3 bands by 4 others.
At this moment we still finalize some contracts, but we already can confirm a special acoustic set by Sonja Kraushofer, the lovely singer known from bands like L’Âme Immortelle, Persephone and Coma Divine on Sunday. The marvelous Belgium post punk band Organic will open the festival at that same day. The two remaining bands will be announced within the following days.

The Booke of Gargoyles and Garden Creatures, by Monica Richards
05/12/2015

The Booke of Gargoyles and Garden Creatures, by Monica Richards

Monica Richards releases a new coloring book for adults.

After her first successful kickstarter project, The Goddess, this time she is focussing on Gargoyles and Garden creatures, but still needs some help with this new Kickstarter project.

Monica has recreated some of her classic gargoyles along with creatures that inhabit gardens, including fairies and floral motifs. The Booke of Gargoyles and Garden Creatures is full of her classic Folk Art, with thicker lines and areas that can be colored with pencils, markers, alcohol pens or brushes. Some drawings are quite simple, some may be a bit more detailed, this book is made for anyone and everyone, kids and adults alike.

As usual with a nice choice of some beautiful rewards !

And just in time for the holidays! If you back this project as a gift, we'll send a special coloring card to the recipient in time*, letting them know they will be receiving the Booke of Gargoyles and Garden Creatures as a gift from you! That way you can send a Holiday gift, and the book itself will then be shipped to them when it's ready!"

The line-up for Black Easter 2016 is complete
25/11/2015

The line-up for Black Easter 2016 is complete

It is with great pride that we announce the last five bands for our festival:

LES PANTIES are highly likely the post-punk revelation of Belgium from the past years. Apart from the particularly strong numbers, you will certainly be impressed by the magnificent voice of Sophie Frison.

MILA MAR is a legendary gothic ethereal band from Germany founded in 1994.Their sound is a combination of folk, medieval, mystic and modern atmospherical elecronics. In 2015 the band reunited on the WGT festival in Leipzig & in 2016 they will perform at the Black Easter festival !

The band supporting our closing top-act contains some true artists & therefor the members of SULLEN SERENADE (Mexican ambient, tribal and dark world music) as well as the talented violinist PAUL MERCER will perform separately on our festival.

But the final act of Black Easter 2016 will be an exclusive European performance (in 2016) of MONICA RICHARDS. In over twenty-five years as a front woman in Underground music, Monica Richards has a far reaching reputation of the highest respect for her powerful voice and theatrical stage presence. An old school punk rocker who began writing songs at the age of 15, her sharp, intelligent lyrics and musical talents are the highlights of Faith and the Muse, as well as her solo music.

Jo Quail @ The Minard Theatre in Ghent, 09.11.2015 - a concert review

Jo Quail supported Caspian on their latest tour through Europe.

A concert review can be found on Peek-A-Boo magazine.

"The venue was completely quiet when Jo started Laurus, a stunning opener in which the rhythmic strumming on the cello systematically got more and more layers (via looping techniques), and developed into an impressive sound collage with an explosive end. By this, the lovely British lady was able to show in a few minutes her brilliance and virtuosity."

Announcing four additional bands for Black Easter 2016

It is with great pride that we announce four additional bands for our festival:

SHE PAST AWAY will bring that eighties darkwave feeling in their own personal way (and sung in Turkish).

They will be accompanied by the lovely EVI VINE, bringing us some intense, beautiful yet painful songs.

The Italian band ROSARUBEA, founded by Daniela Bedeski (Camerata Mediolanense), is a multimedial project which involves music, poetry and visual art, in a unique blend of medieval, electronics & experimental.

And finally we are really glad to confirm the marvelous composer and cellist JO QUAIL, who will bring her unique instrumental compositions, solo on cello.

More bands will be announced during the following weeks !

They will be accompanied by ATTRITION, another band of the eighties that still can surprise us with their marvelous creations.

The German band HEKATE already brings for 20 years a unique blend of medieval, electronics & experimental.

And finally some young talent from Belgium with the enchanting ELVYA DULCIMER.

Welcome to our Black Easter 2016 website!

In these uncertain times of recession, especially within the alternative music business, BodyBeats productions is happy to announce to you all that there will be a second edition of the BlackEaster festival.

Even more, the complete line-up for both days is already secured! So if you have a band or are a booker, there is no need to (start) spamming us with your great suggestions. :-)

Soon our digital poster/flyer will be up here for you to enjoy and distribute, but since we don’t want to pollute the World Wide Web with dozens of different versions we will only post the final line-up poster, when ALL bands are 100% confirmed!
